BRISBANE, QLD, AUSTRALIA: Intrust Super CEO Brendan O’Farrell has announced that the business has received authority from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) to offer a MySuper product.
“Receiving our authorisation is a tremendous milestone for the fund and will enable us to continue offering the best possible service to our clients, many of whom operate within the Hospitality and Tourism industry,” O’Farrell said.
“These businesses deserve all the assistance possible in meeting their superannuation compliance requirements.”
By 1 January 2014, all employers must use a MySuper product as their default superannuation option to ensure compliance with Government regulations.
“Businesses that don’t have an association with a MySuper-authorised fund come next January, may have compliance difficulties,” said Mr O’Farrell.
“Employers and staff in the Hospitality and Tourism industry can now be assured there is a fund for them that has this authorisation.”
Intrust Super will continue to keep employers and members up-to-date on the roll-out of its MySuper product through their website, publications and face-to-face meetings.
