Brisbane developers Anthony John Group, headed by Tony and Francine John, have given the go-ahead to a second Emporium Hotel in the city at South Bank.
The ‘Southpoint’ project, originally revealed in early 2012, will feature a luxury Emporium Hotel and premium residential apartments and will officially be launched in May, 2013.
“Southpoint will offer a truly unique opportunity – the chance to secure an apartment with unparalleled river and city views on the last remaining site in this famous precinct,” Anthony John Group said in an email to HM last night (Mar 19).
“The development will offer a variety of choices for buyers, with 1-bed apartments from $375,000 and 2-bed apartments from $570,000.
“For a select few, there will also be premium 3 and 4 bedroom apartments available. Residents can enjoy the luxury facilities of Emporium Hotel and have access to 24/7 concierge, room service and valet parking.
“They can also enter their apartments via the world-class hotel lobby or maintain privacy using their exclusive entrance,” the Group said.
The green light is welcome news for the city’s accommodation bank – just days ago, the Queensland Government called for more hotels to be built in Brisbane.
