With 85 years of experience in refrigeration technology and over 4.5M refrigerators installed in Hotels throughout the globe, Dometic has made a name for itself in absorption miniBars. Continuing to lead the way in the industry, Dometic has listened to customer needs and is now providing them with another guest room refrigeration option.
This need comes as the ventilation requirements of an absorption miniBar are quite specific and sometimes involves a change of joinery. Up to now, the available choice on the market has been a domestic style bar fridge with no consideration of the specific guest room requirements. Firstly the fridges on offer have not been designed with a hotel minibar menu in mind, and secondly they come with a freezer. The inclusion of a freezer is typically not wanted by hotels, as continuous defrosting is labour intensive and water dripping during this process will over time ruin the timber in the joinery. Furthermore, most of the compressor fridges on the market up to now were only available in white, which does not suit the décor in many hotels.

Following the same footprint as the most successful of the existing ecoLine absorption fridges, the stylish new Dometic compressor miniBars are available in two sizes with 40 litre (RH 440 LDC) and 60 litre (CL 460 LDC) capacities. They are powerful in operation, provide excellent cooling even at high ambient temperatures and very economical in energy consumption at just 0.27kWh/24 and 0.28kWh/24 respectively.
“With the knowledge that these two sizes are by far the most popular, it made sense to model the new miniBars on the existing ecoLine range in the same sizes.” said Ms. Rickard. “Consistent with our absorption models, there is NO FREEZER, which not only saves labour in defrosting but also provides more refrigerator space. “
