Australian billionaire Clive Palmer has added the Sea Temple Golf and Country Club in Queensland’s Port Douglas to his portfolio, snapping up the designer 18-hole course as well as a housing estate with 45 sites from Juniper Group for AUD$7 million.
The deal does not include the five-star Sea Temple Resort and Spa Port Douglas as reported by some Australian media outlets.
Sea Temple Resort and Spa Port Douglas is managed by Accor following the purchase of the Mirvac Hotels and Resorts portfolio and HM can confirm it is remaining with the Paris-based chain and is not under Palmer’s ownership.
Palmer’s purchase also includes a development approval for 10 further fairway lots and follows his purchase of the Hyatt Regency Coolum (Palmer Resort Coolum) earlier this year.
