The agreement for Adelaide, South Australia to host the opening V8 Supercar race each year until 2021 has been praised by the Hoteliers.
The Accommodation Association of Australia (AAoA) says the recent announcement, which was made by the South Australian State Government, will deliver “confidence and certainty to the accommodation industry in Adelaide”.
“This is a win for South Australia’s accommodation sector because the V8 event is one of the largest drivers of leisure business for accommodation properties in Adelaide,” said AAoA’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Munro.
“Securing the event for Adelaide for the long-term will inject further confidence in the city’s tourism sector and will assist with promoting growth by encouraging further investment in tourism accommodation infrastructure.
“It will enhance the city’s competitiveness with other traditional tourism hot-spots such as Sydney and Melbourne and comes on the back of Emirates’ recent arrival in Adelaide,” he said.
