Now with Accor: Quay West Resort Bunker Bay

BY JAMES WILKINSON

A large number of the Mirvac hotel group’s employees are set to be retained by Accor and according to the company’s Asia Pacific’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Issenberg, they will play a major role in the chain’s future business.

“Accor has acquired a number of hotel groups during its 21 years operation in Australia and New Zealand, and one of the key benefits of such acquisitions has been gaining access to professional and experienced human resources,” Issenberg said during the May 22 Mirvac acquisition announcement.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Mirvac employees to Accor. Just as all the Mirvac hotels will benefit from being part of a global network, so too will all staff, with outstanding opportunities to develop and grow their careers in the Pacific region and beyond.”

Following the Mirvac takeover, Accor’s network has grown to 240 hotels (representing 32,000 rooms) across Australasia.
