Mantra Group has announced that the owners of the iconic Peppers Anchorage resort in Port Stephens have signed a further 10 year agreement marking the end of a successful year for the luxury brand which is set to add a suite of new properties to its portfolio in 2012.
Peppers Anchorage has been a signature property in the group for over a decade and the re-signing demonstrates the confidence that the owners have in the brand’s reputation and ongoing management.
Mantra Group CEO, Bob East, said it is the integrity of the brand that is attractive to owners and the reason behind its impending growth.
“Peppers celebrated 25 years of operation in 2009 and has truly evolved with the needs of the travelling public,” he said.
“What started as a collection of boutique retreats has grown to include a host of luxury resorts and now a growing selection of metropolitan properties, pioneered by the successful Peppers Broadbeach – which recently celebrated its first year of operation. The brand is set to add an iconic Australian property to the network early in 2012 and a brand new property in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley is slated for 2013.”
Peppers is also set to expand in the Pacific in late 2012 with a resort set to open on Naisoso Island.
Peppers Anchorage boasts 80 luxurious rooms and an ideal waterfront location in the tranquil surrounds of Port Stephens on the NSW North Coast, ensuring it is a firm favourite with couples and families looking to combine a beach side escape with a visit to the nearby Hunter Valley wine region. Its accessibility, just two hours drive from Sydney and a short distance from Newcastle Airport also makes it a popular choice for weddings, conferences and events.
The resort’s Merretts Restaurant has also gained an excellent reputation with locals and guests looking for a superior dining experience in the region.
General Manger, Kent Warren, said his team worked hard to maintain the standards set by the Peppers brand
“We have a team of enthusiastic staff – some who have been with the property since it joined the Peppers group – who ensure that all the unique qualities of the brand are experienced by our guests every day,” he said.
“We look forward to a further 10 years of bringing the Peppers standard of excellence to our guests.”
