Those on the Gold Coast who have been craving a hot new venue will get their FIX, when the new cocktail lounge at Hilton Surfers Paradise opens its doors on September 14.
Taking its name from the common term for a cocktail in prohibition America circa 1920’s; FIX, a stylish new lounge bar, is set to shake things up on the Gold Coast bar scene.
Internationally renowned, Sydney-based mixologist Grant Collins will introduce the most comprehensive range of internationally sourced Bourbons and Gins in Queensland and some of the most progressive cocktail techniques seen in Australia.
Drawing on more than 15 years experience in London, Europe and New York, Collins says he was inspired by the hotel’s famous Surfers Paradise location, and has combined the philosophy of a classic and elegant FIX creation with some cheeky twists on well-known classics, while also using the unique energy and vibrancy of Australia’s holiday playground.
“The bar itself is one-of-a-kind, with a stylish red leather feature wall, oversized leather ottomans, stunning curved black chaises, spectacular silver beaded screens, and a seven metre long granite bar,” Collins said.
“We have also added a touch of vintage glamour, introducing charismatic uniforms for the service team, and serving a range of cocktails in authentic vintage glassware,” he said.
According to Collins, FIX will offer locals and Hilton guests with a venue that’s stylish, comfortable and has a personality of its own.
“FIX will be somewhere that you can relax, enjoy the atmosphere and have a seriously good cocktail, including the signature Fix Breeze and Surfers Sling which I’ve developed exclusively for this bar,” he said.
“For the vintage-lovers, we will have an offering of styled classics, circa 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s, as well a selection of some lesser known, all-time vintage favourites like the Abby Martini – all served in eclectic glassware.
“We are also proud to offer a Market Fresh selection, mixing up only the freshest produce available like the Coconut and Mango Daiquiri – succulent mango muddled with fresh coconut and a healthy slug of 10 Cane Rum.”
Featuring a truly unique cocktail menu, an impressive selection of spirits and wines, great bar design, the most professional bar staff, and a bar menu specially designed by Luke Mangan, FIX is poised to stand out as the Gold Coast’s new venue of choice.
