Ayana Resort and Spa Bali is continuing the New Year celebrations after being ranked among the world’s best hotels on the 2011 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List.
With an overall score of 91.1, Ayana was just one of four hotels in Indonesia to make the coveted list, which in its 17th year is one of the most prestigious compendiums of the best hotels, resorts and cruise lines on the planet.
The list is based on the results of the magazine’s annual independent Readers’ Survey, which was completed by almost 26,000 voters. Entries are intended to reflect a property’s character and the unique guest experiences it offers, rather than a tick-list of its facilities.
Ayana’s General Manager, Charles de Foucault, was thrilled with the property receiving the recognition for the second year running, maintaining Ayana’s listing from the 2010 Gold List.
“Conde Nast Traveler readers are well-traveled, accustomed to luxury service, and have no tolerance for anything less than first-class,” de Foucault said. “They demand innovation, reliability and the wow factor.
“To be listed by such travelers among the world’s best hotels is a true honor for Ayana, reflecting our continued evolution since our rebranding to an independent property in 2009. Thank you to everyone for your support.”
The Gold List results came shortly after Ayana was awarded Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort for the second year running at the World Travel Awards in November 2010, and Asia’s Leading Luxury Villa (Ayana Villa). Other accolades in 2010 included being voted the number one Spa Hotel in the World by Conde Nast Traveler readers, voted among the Top 20 Hotels for Value Overall by Travel and Leisure readers, and voted Indonesia’s Leading Independent Resort at the Indonesian Tourism Awards.
